-
- INSTALLATION
-
- MODERATE.ADN/MODERA32.ADN and MODERATE.HLP should be installed in your
- Ameol addons directory.
-
- Moderate needs the support DLLs HCTOOLS.DLL/HCTOOL32.DLL (Ameol addon
- utility routines) version 1.07 or later and WINHORUS.DLL/WINHOR32.DLL
- (general Windows utility routines) version 2.06 or later. The latest
- versions can be downloaded from ameol_moderate/files. I suggest installing
- HCTools in your Ameol directory and WinHorus in your Windows system
- directory (~\windows\system, ~\winnt35\system32 or wherever). Note that
- these libraries are copylefted software; full source code is available on
- request or can be downloaded from ameol_moderate/files. The file
- LIBRARYS.TXT contains the copyleft agreement under which you are licenced
- to use them.
-
- These versions of Moderate also require the Ameol common controls DLL
- (AMCTRLS.DLL/AMCTRL32.DLL). These will be included with Ameol/Ameol32 in
- the future, but for now they are included in the Moderate archives. The
- Ameol common controls DLL should be installed in your Windows system
- directory (~\windows\system, ~\winnt35\system32 or wherever).
-
- Install the addon using the Settings/Utilities... menu entry. Click on the
- "Add" button and select MODERATE.ADN/MODERA32.ADN using the file selector
- that will appear, then click on "OK" in the Utilities dialog. The addon
- will appear in your Utilities menu; this entry displays version information
- and a list of Ameol menu entries installed by Moderate. These entries can
- also be activated from this "About" dialog using the buttons provided.
-
- File list maintenance is installed as "Edit File Lists..." in the Ameol
- "Topic" menu.
-
- CIX conference creation and topic maintenance are installed as "Create Host
- Conference..." in the Ameol "Global" menu and "Edit Host Topics..." in the
- Ameol "Topic" menu.
-
- Various configurable settings in Moderate are editable from "Moderate..."
- in the Ameol "Settings" menu.
-
- You may need to tell Ameol you moderate any conferences you want to use
- this addon with; either update the participant and moderator list using
- "Topic ╗ Participants..." or use the "Settings..." button in the Ameol
- topic list, with the appropriate conference name highlighted in the
- listbox, and type your CIX nickname into the "Moderators" edit box that
- appears and click "OK".

-
- CONFIGURATION
-
- The following items are recognised in the [Moderate] section of ameol.ini
- (these can mostly be set using the "Settings ╗ Moderate..." dialog).
-
- dateformat=%d%b%Y
- The date insertion format is as per strftime(); the example above
- shows the default setting. You can put in any plain text you like,
- plus the following:
-
- %% character %
- %a abbreviated weekday name
- %A full weekday name
- %b abbreviated month name
- %B full month name
- %c date and time, default format
- %d 2-digit day of month (00-31)
- %H 2-digit hour (00-23)
- %I 2-digit hour (01-12)
- %j 3-digit day of year (001-366)
- %m 2-digit month as a decimal number (1-12)
- %M 2-digit minute (00-59)
- %p AM or PM

- %x date, default format
- %X time, default format
- %y 2-digit year without century (00-99)
- %Y year with century
- %Z time zone name, or no characters if no time zone
-
- menuprefix=false
- If this is set ("true", "on", "yes" or non-zero), menu entries
- inserted into the Ameol menus by Moderate will be prefixed by "Mod: ".
- The default for this is off.
-
- fdirselect=0
- This control the initial display state of the fdir window:
-
- 0 -> orphans only
- 1 -> files in flist only
- 2 -> all files
-
- fdirsort=descending date
- This controls the initial sort options for fdir displays. The first
- token can be 'ascending' or 'descending', the second 'name', 'date' or
- 'size'.
-
- confirmdeletes=000
- This is a three-digit decimal number:
-
- units: flist delete
- 0 -> confirm deletes
- 1 -> no confirmation of deletes
- tens: flist fdir delete
- 0 -> do not delete files in fdir when removed from flist
- 1 -> confirm deletion of files in fdir when removed from flist
- 2 -> delete files in fdir without confirmation
- hundreds: fdir delete
- 0 -> confirm all deletes
- 1 -> confirm deletes of flisted files
- 2 -> no confirmation of deletes
-
- download=<path>
- upload=<path>
- These are the local paths the addon will use for down/uploading
- files. "upload" defaults to "download" which in turn defaults to
- whatever "download" is set to in [Directories]. This is intended to
- allow moderators to separate file list related file management from
- their everyday CIXing.
-
- notifysingle=true
- This controls whether the default setting for notification messages for
- mutiple files is to generate a single message for all files or to
- generate a separate message for each file.
-
- flistsort=ascending name
- This controls the initial sort options for sorting an flist. The first
- token can be 'ascending' or 'descending', the second 'name', 'date' or
- 'size'.
-
- notifysignature=false
- This controls whether notification messages will have a signature
- automatically appended (if one is defined in Ameol).
-
- editseed=false
- If this is set, a message editor will be started automatically whenever
- a new conference topic is created to allow the seed message to be
- edited.
-
- debug=off
- Setting this to "on" enables some diagnostic code associated with topic
- data updates in Moderate. This option cannot be set from "Settings..."
-
- topicsizewarning=yes
- This globally enables topic size warnings in Moderate. Warnings also
- need to be defined and enabled per-topic.
-
- notifysize=yes
- If this is set, Moderate includes the file size (if known) in the
- titles of file list notification messages.
-
- notifycase=0
- This sets the character case used for filenames in file list
- notification messages. 0: lower case, 1: upper case, 2: mixed case.
-
- commdlgbuffsize=4096
- This sets the size in bytes of the filename buffer passed to the
- commdlg file selector used for adding files to a file list by upload.
- This option cannot be set from "Settings..."
-
- autonotify=false
- This controls whether the file notification message dialog is automatically
- launched whenever files are added or updated in a file list.
-
- createmissing=true
- This controls whether Moderate automatically creates missing topics in
- your local messagebase for conferences you moderate when performing
- topic information updates.
-
